There was a huge change during the late Victorian era, from steam technology and transportation, to changes in social structure and agriculture, the era had a huge impact on everyone and everything.
The changes in new technology and transportation lead to greater production, efficiency and profits; however, this drastically increased the demand for coal as between 1860 and 1900 the annual coal production grew from 80 million tons to over 250 million tons..
