Back ground and investigation Klang River is the main waterway and, more importantly, which flows through Kuala Lumpur and Selangor and ends its journey at the end of the day 120KM in the Strait of Malacca. Recently, the Selangor government announced a plan to invest RM20 billion to clean up and rehabilitate the Klang River, and turn it into a catalyst for future economic development in the state. The plan aims to promote real estate development along the river and possibly use the river for public transport. Ultimately, the state wants to make the river an integral part of the lives of the people who work and live in the Klang Valley. Klang River passes through areas of high population density and economically developed Selangor and Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
