The American Revolution caused many great changes to the lives of the people in the eighteenth century and to the people of today as well. The revolution left a new outlook on the colonists. In 1754-1763 the French and Indian War took place. King George III spent an abundance of money from buying supplies for his army and colonies. The king had to find a way to pay off his debts, and that he did. The king’s resolution was to tax the colonists without first getting their consent. The colonist, as one would suspect, were not fond of this at all. They thought it was unjust that they were paying for the thing that use to be free. The colonists started to boycott British goods.
