King Bhumibol, also known as Rama IX of the Chakri Dynasty, have served the longest reigning constitutional monarch in Thailand and within the region of Southeast Aisa. He has been the strength amalgamation of his nation and the people. Despite holding little formal political power, and only as a monarch leader and commandant of the Thai armed forces under the Thai constitution, he is able to have reverence and approbation by many of his people. Many have wonder how a charismatic King can be treated as a semi-divine, semi-deity father figure and as a development King. It is his movements that encouraged great reverence that his actions have moulded the course for the development of his country and the people’s lives. Instinctively, what King Bhumibol did has been pleased with the love and admiration by the Thais ever since he became the King. As mentioned by Thailandtoday (2011), during his era, King Rama IX toured to all over Thailand, to visit his people. Reaching the remotest, most dangerous parts via foot over tough terrains talking to the poor and vulnerable on their problems, to improve lives, promote development. In search for a solution to his people’s needs, the King spent most his time on projects to improve the life of his people. He developed more than 4,000 projects, known as Royal Development Projects, benefiting the poverty particularly those residing in rural area. Thailandtoday (2011) cited that it was a nation-wide affair which includes irrigation, agricultural, famine and flood alleviation, crop replacement, employment of job and traffic improvement, which they have improved the survival of his people.
