In class, we learned about the concept of the love triangle. We learned that though the names change, the story generally stays the same. For example, another version of King Arthur, is King Mark, Tristan, and Isolde. Those characters are conceived as being pagan. On the other hand, King Arthur, Lancelot, and Guinevere are though of as a Christian group. When we look closer at these love triangles, we see that the women take the roll of several different entities. Whether it be a Temptress, Witch, Healer, or Savior, women seem to fill different shoes depending on the situation. Above all else, women are seen as possessing power.
