Formal Pope John Paull II born as of Karol Jozef Wojtyla on May 18, 1920 in Wadowice, Poland. In his early life His mother died when he was 9 years old, and his older brother Edmund died when he was 12. He made his First Holy Communion at age 9 and was confirmed at 18. Upon graduation from Marcin Wadowita high school in Wadowice, he enrolled in Cracow's Jagiellonian University in 1938 and in a school for drama. Later on the school was closed the next year by Nazi troops during the German occupation of Poland. Wanting to become a priest, John Paul began studying at a secret seminary run by the archbishop of Krakow. Once the school re-opened after the Second World War Karol finished his religious studies at a Krakow seminary he was ordained to priesthood on November 1, 1946. (Wojtyala) John Paul spent two years in Rome where he finished his doctorate in theology where he later returned to his native home in Poland in 1948. John Paul became the bishop of Ombi in 1958 within six years later he was consider to be one of the Catholic Church’s leaders being participated in the Vatican Council. A leader to the Catholic Church, he traveled the world, visiting more than 100 countries by spreading his message of faith and peace to the world. He even came close to death when he return home when he face his assassinator in 1981 where he forgave his attacker. John Paul often spoke out about the sufferings in the world spreading peace and the word of the lord. John Paul will die on April 2, 2005 at the age of 84 at Vatican City where more than 3 million people waited in line to say far wishes to a beloved leader in the world. In the year 2013 former Pope Francis announces that Pope John Paul II would declare from the Roman Catholic Church declare him into a saint due to some of the miracles he had accomplish through his career.
