To me Jeremy Blake’s abstract videos are more than just animated paintings it evokes an indescribable experience visually how these paints crosses over one another, how the changes are unanticipated. In punch drunk love the video are filled with blurs, pebbly surfaces and sampled photographs that morph and collide onto one into another to create a fantasyland or a hallucinogenic dream. His cinematography is interestingly limited and pictures constantly dissolves and shifts but never pans or zooms. The camera stares fixedly ahead, as things slides in and out of its field of vision, encouraging a similarly passive trance like stare from the viewers.
