James T. Maher was a writer and a historian of popular music and cultural criticism. Maher had contributed to Alec Wilder's "American Popular Song," a classic of musical scholarship, and Ken Burns’ documentary "Jazz” in 2001. He wrote notes for albums that include “Benny Goodman Plays,” and “The Sound of Music.” He was the author of The Twilight of Splendor: Chronicles of the Age of American Palaces and The Distant Music of Summer. Jeffrey Sultanof is an arranger, a professor and an editor. He had worked for Hal Leonard Corporation from 1994 to 2002 as a consultant and an editor. He had taught at different colleges and universities in the East Coast from 2002. His research and articles had been used for educators, historians, and students.
