In the Hobbit one event that represents moral courage is when Gandalf picked Bilbo to come on the mission even though, all of the Dwarves suggested that Bilbo should not come because he is just a hobbit and that he is not brave, or strong enough to come on this tough journey. But Gandalf insisted that Bilbo must come and took the risk. People in the Hobbit think what is right or wrong in a few different ways. The Dwarfs, Gandalf, and Bilbo knew what was right or wrong by seeing if it will help them achieve their goal to defeat Smaug and get the kingdom under the mountain and give it back to Thorin. An example was when Gandalf, the Dwarves and Bilbo went to the land of the Elves. The Dwarves and Bilbo continued because staying there was a waste of time and they only had a day to unlock the key to the mountain and into Smaug’s lair.…show more content…
In the contract for the journey, if the money was not included then a few of the Dwarves probably including Bilbo would not embark on the mission.
