Interphase And Metaphase

1. Interphase. We attached 7 beads to each side of the two yellow and red centromeres; this was our chromosomes. We joined the two centromeres at the middle to represent sister chromatid and place the yarn or string around it to represent the nuclear membrane. Then placed two plastic centrioles outside the nuclear membrane (the yarn or string). Interphase is the normal state of the cell. It’s preparing to duplicate.
2. Prophase and Prometaphase. We moved the plastic centrioles to the opposite side of the nuclear membrane before removing it. During prophase, chromosomes in the nucleus are condense. The pairs of centrioles move to opposite sides of the nucleus. While in prometaphase, the nuclear envelope breaks down and disappears.
3. Metaphase.
