How many of you have ever tried to lose weight? I know many of us in here have tried to go on a diet at some point in our life. For many of you, that diet might not have worked out. What if I told you that there was an easier way to lose weight. Today I am going to try to persuade you to use intermittent fasting when you’re trying to lose weight. I know many of you are probably comfortable with your weight. The information I am about to provide doesn’t expire. In twenty years when your metabolism slows down, you could remember my speech on intermittent fasting and give it a try yourself.
I would first like to talk about a problem that we have in America, obesity. According to the Boston Medical Center, around 45 million Americans try a diet…show more content… Yes, just like diets there are different types of intermittent fasting “strategies.” I talked about the 16:8 intermittent fast cycle earlier in my speech. This way of fasting is when you don’t eat for sixteen hours and then you eat all your calories in the eight-hour window. An example of this way would be fasting from 6 pm until 10 am the next morning. You would then eat all your calories and nutrients for the day in the eight-hour window after 10 am. Starting this way can be hard if you are going to try this way of intermittent fasting you should work your way up to the sixteen hours fast. The second way of intermittent fasting is the eat stop eat method or 2x24 method. In this way of intermittent fasting, you’re going to fast for a full day twice a week. The third way of intermittent fasting is alternate day fasting, in this method you’re fasting every other day. An example of this is eating on Monday at 8 pm fasting for twenty-four hours until Tuesday at 8 pm when you’d eat your regular way until Wednesday at 8 pm.
