Specific Purpose: I want to inform my audience about Jonah Lomu’s involvement in rugby.
The Legend in Rugby

II. Everyone is fascinated with sports; especially when it comes to the violence aspect that certain sport brings.
A. Everyone knows what American football is?
i. Rugby is a lot like American football except in rugby we do not wear any pads. ii. Then there is some rule differences.
B. Rugby is considered one of the most violent sports to be.
III. Jonah Tali Lomu is the Michael Jorden of rugby.
A. He is consider one of the best player to ever hit the game of rugby.
IV. I have been playing rugby for 3 years now.

I. Jonah Lomu had a tremendous career with the New Zealand All Blacks.
A. Lomu Started his career record breaking young.
i. Lomu, at the age of 19 years and 45 days, became the youngest New Zealand All Blacks player.
1. He debut his first international test match against France in 1994.
B. Lomu played for the All Blacks from 1994 to 2002.
C. According to ESPN Scrum, a very well-known site in the rugby community, Lomu competed in 63 test matches with the All Blacks; scoring a total of 185 points.
D. His career with the All Blacks came to a hault when doctors discover that he has a rare kidney disease.
E. He came back to play rugby in the lower leagues do to his illness.
i. He played in the SuperRugby league in New Zealand. ii. Then he plays in the Senior league.
F. Lomu officially retired in 2007 after breaking his ankle in the Senior League. (Transition: Even though Lomu’s career was short, he made plenty of outstanding achievements.)

III. Jonah Lomu was the biggest thing that hit rugby.
A. He was the face that brought people’s attention to international rugby.
B. He was often consider the “drawcard” player.
i. This means he fill up seats wherever he is playing.
C. He inspire a lot of young athletes to give rugby a try.
D. He became the IRB Junior Rugby World Cup ambassador.
I. As the statistic shows, Jonah Lomu was one of the best player to ever play the game of rugby.
II. He has shaken the world with his abilities as a rugby player.
III. He is shaping up and mentoring young kids in the game of rugby.
IV. Jonah Lomu inspires me to be invole in rugby and I hope it has inspire everyone here as well.
