In The Heat Of The Night Rhetorical Analysis

285 Words2 Pages
Though they are both disrespected, Adrian and Rocky are still very caring individuals. One instance of this is when Gazzo sends Rocky to pursue Bob, someone who is indebted to Gazzo and his party. Gazzo tells Rocky not to let the man go until he returns the money that was borrowed and to threaten him a little by breaking his thumb. Rocky takes the money and leaves without doing what he was told. Gazzo finds out and confronts Rocky about this, saying that not doing what he was told would put his reputation at stake. Rocky replies, “I figure if I break the thumb this guy gets thrown outta his job and can't pay nothin’ no more,” (Stallone). This shows that Rocky, whether he is acquainted with someone or not, cares about the well-being of others.
