In the book The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn both share common necessities and a unique personality, which brings them closer together as friends. Moreover, their ideal life style and attitude gives Huck and Tom a different perspective on one another. For example, Huckleberry Finn is a thirteen-year-old boy who lives in St. Petersburg, Missouri with his father, the alcoholic and basically has to support himself. On the other hand, Tom is a runaway slave who Huck encounters throughout the book. Even though Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer share a variety of similarities and differences, their adventure for a better life style brings them closer than they would have ever imagined. Even though Huckleberry and Tom share similar characteristics, their personality and attitude is quite the opposite. Likewise, Huck is a lot more mature, smart, and thoughtful but in contrast, Tom doesn’t progress proper manners and is selfish especially when he stole the family’s fortune. The major difference between the two characters comes in existence during the end of the novel while trying to free Jim. Also, they enjoy going on adventures such as the time they went searching for gold and found six thousand dollars apiece. Huckleberry and Tom also show courageous bravery when escaping from their home and living out in the wild. Huck leaves because he wants a better life style and Tom leaves because he despises being a slave and also wants a better life style.
