The book that I chose for this response is Delirium, by Lauren Oliver. This book is about a girl who is named Lena and how she goes through many difficulties along her path of life. In her town, love is a disease. Scientists have founded a cure to this sickness, and Lena will be able to get this cure when she turns eighteen. Always counting down the days for the cure, Lena wonders what it will be like without the sickness. Many people completely change from this cure and are never the same. During a point in Lena’s life she has to take an evaluation; this is a test and determines how many children she has, her job, and her husband. Nearly her whole future depends on this evaluation. She goes through many troubles and experiences with her best friend. There is one problem though: she falls in love with a boy named Alex and would like to stay with him forever. Their is only one choice for Lena and Alex. They will have to run away and live in the woods for the rest of their lives. That is what they exactly choose. While they are running out of the town, Alex gets shot by one of the guards. Lena keeps on running and eventually gets to safety without Alex…show more content…

For example, Lena becomes a different person when love finds her before she can have the cure done, and Katniss changes after the Hunger Games happen. Through Delirium, by Lauren Oliver Lena changes from a teenage girl with no worries to a laborious, and heartbroken
