Oedipus’s current state of mind when he says this is kind of like he is oblivious as to what’s going to happen once he finds out that Jocasta is his mother. He should fear tracing his birth because then that means that he has to divorce his mother because number one that’s nasty that they were together in the first place and second it's better to live in oblivion than knowing something that’ll ruin your whole life. I don’t agree with the thought because people say stuff like that all the time but right after they know they’ll do the thing that they said they wouldn’t do. So I really don’t think that Oedipus should trace his birth because it’s only going to ruin his life and if he’s happy with his ‘mother’ than I think that they should
