In the play of Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, supernatural forces had the ability to alter Macbeth’s ambitions. Which, in turn, were the causes for his many tyrannous actions. The three Weird Sisters and Macbeth’s wife, Lady Macbeth, were major influences on Macbeth’s actions that led him to carry out multiple evil acts throughout the play. There are numerous examples of influence both supernatural and not within the play that ultimately result in Macbeth’s vaulting ambition being able to get the best of him.
