John Fitzgerald Kennedy was our 35th American president. Thousands of people lined the streets with their cameras in hand waiting for their snap shot of the president. The bystanders waving tiny American flags shouting their love for the president; not knowing how horrible this wonderful day would turn within a blink of an eye. Suddenly as shots were heard, the panic set in and people began ducking, running, and even crying at what happened. Just like that he was assassinated in a presidential convertible limousine while taking part in a parade in his honor. The effects surrounding his death still impact us today. Everyone appeared to have so much pride at the event. In a blink of an eye everything changed when people could not even begin to imagine and in shock; wondering if what they just witnessed really had happened. People watched in horror as the president was riding along in his convertible limousine and was shot in his head by a sniper. After some time of investigation, the Warren Commission report finally came out; some Americans felt it was misleading, was not investigated well enough, and were shocked that no new evidence was found. Americans felt the government was covering up something much more troubling since at this time the president and attorney general was in a major battle with Cuba and the mob. Americans felt not enough was done to protect our president. The government wanted to prove to Americans that they do care what happens to the president and set some new guidelines. We will never see another president ride in a convertible limousine. Today, we will never know what car the president is riding in because now the government uses decoy cars.
