In 1929 the stock market crashed, making the roaring 20s come to a halting stop. President F. D Roosevelt created programs and agencies to help the people of the great depression get back on their feet; after all Roosevelt had seen war on land and sea, seen blood, the dying and the dead. In a public speech Roosevelt said, “That one has nothing to fear, but fear itself.” Roosevelt had been through heartache and pain, he knew what his people were going through.
