Has the Houston Food Bank been helping the community? The Houston Food Bank is an organization that has helped the community for years. Hunger is increasingly becoming a large problem. The Houston Food Bank is constantly trying to combat this problem. If someone was hungry, the organization would feed them. They have improved the lives of thousands of people. The hard work and dedication of just one person can feed a couple of starving families.
According to Isaac (2013) the main idea about this subject is the Houston Food Bank is an organization founded not too long ago. In 1982, the Houston Food Bank was founded by Joan and Stanford Alexander. It started as a non-profit organization, but over the years organization grew.…show more content… As you may or may not know, the Houston Food Bank is an active member of a large organization called Feeding America. Back in the fall of 2008, the Houston Food Bank merged, or joined forces with the End Hunger Network. This increase their way of helping people in the community and in other communities. Their plan is to be able to expand service to one hundred millions meals by 2018. This author concludes that the Houston Food Bank is improving ways it can help benefit the community.

In total, I found five main ideas about the Houston. One idea said the Houston Food Bank is feeding one hundred thirty-seven people each week. Another idea is that hunger is not the only problem now. Including hunger, it’s also about not getting enough nourishment or nutrients. In other words, people are becoming malnourished. Although the sources have many things to say about the organization, such as how the food bank prepares fifty million meals a year, or how seventy million pounds of food is prepared annually, the majority if the sources say practically the same thing: the Houston Food Bank is an active member of Feeding America and is constantly feeding people everywhere.
In order to test the ideas about the Houston Food Bank, I would ask, or interview, people two different questions and record their answers. After gathering their responses, I would graph the information I’ve gathered on two separate graphs, one for each question. The information will be modeled on a bar graph to compare the answers of the people who answered the two
