Holes by Louis Sachar is an award-winning fictional story with the setting of "Camp Green Lake", the juvenile delinquent camp where Stanley Yelnats was sent in the beginning of the story. There Stanley was forced to dig holes every day in the boiling hot sun, (at Camp Green Lake). This is where Stanley meets People, all different in their own way. This is where they made a friendship, merely impossible to separate with each other at the camp. "There is no lake at Camp Green Lake. There once was a very large lake there, the largest lake in all of Texas. Here at Camp Green Lake, was Stanley Yelnats who was falsely accused of robbery. After a pair of sneakers came flying out of the air and struck him in the head. He was then asked to make a decision of jail time or time at Camp Green Lake. Choosing camp, he was thrown onto a bus secured by a guard sitting across from Stanley holding a large rifle in his hands. When Stanley arrived at Camp Green Lake, he was surprised to see no lake. Instead, there was an empty wasteland that stretched for miles. "The only "Green" within sight was the two tall trees. Other than that there was no green within sight of the camp.
