Both of these poems seem to objectify women. Marvell much more so. Herrick gives general advice to young women urging them to get married. Marvell refers to women in a way that indicates that he only wishes to use them for their bodies. He describes their various body parts and personifies their virginity. He basically, in different words. says "Your virginity will do you no good in the grave so you shoukd give it to me while you still can." The two poets views towards women make sense seeing as though women were considered far less valuble than men during the time period.
