Manuscript Good afternoon Dr. Johnson and class, today I will discuss a well-known virus called Hepatitis B. HPV stands for “Hepatitis B Virus”, Hepatitis B is a serious virus. Do anyone really know or understand what hepatitis B is? Well I am here today to educate you all on this Virus. The three main points I would like to discuss with you is where the virus attacks, how it spreads, and the risk of hepatitis B. Where does hepatitis B attacks? Well according to WebMD “Hepatitis B is an infection of your liver. It can cause scarring of the organ” (WebMD). Hepatitis B is a harmful virus and damages your liver, which is the organ needed for detoxification, basically your liver is a very important role in your body and hepatitis B scars your liver. Hepatitis B spreads through many ways which most…show more content… Through sexual contact, “The hepatitis B virus can enter the body through a break in the lining of the rectum, vagina, urethra (the tube that carries urine out of the body), or mouth.”(WebMD). A newborn baby can also be a victim to this horrible virus by the mother’s bodily fluids, but a mother can breastfeed without having the fear of spreading the virus from mother to child. Toothbrushes and razors also can carry hepatitis B because there could be blood on this item which harbors the disease sharing it to another person. Hepatitis B becomes more of a risk when people are sharing needles, having unprotected sex, traveling to area of high HBV rates, and an infant born to an infected mother. These risk factors are very important to consider if a person wish not to become infected with this virus which can potential causes liver failure, cancer, and even could be fatal if one is not treated.
