Hammurabi lived nearly 4,000 years ago. He was a ruler of ancient Mesopotamia. He is important because he made the world’s first written laws. *note he did not make the world’s first laws just the first written laws*. His laws enveloped chopping off hands loosening an eye and even death. But someone might needs these laws for that time because people went crazy and killed each other like it was nothing. Also everyone needs justice and laws. Hammurabi’s law #196 states that “if a man has knocked the eye out of a free man his eye shall be knocked out” this law is fair for then because the man who got his eye knocked out will want to see the man who did it punished also that shows that the people should not do it or else...Also law #23 is fair
