Throughout this video, there where many controversial topics that where discussed. Haidt said liberals are much higher on a personality trait called openness. They are much more open to having new experiences. They crave new ideas, variety, and diversity. I don’t think this is true. For example, around the great depression there was a split in the Democratic party. The party was split between Conservative and Liberals. The liberal democrats, who had just gained power, forced the conservative democrats to join the Republican party. They where tired of the liberals causing conflict with one another. This disproves Jonathan’s whole argument.
I believe that Conservatives are open to new ideas. It is human nature to adapt to change when pushed
