The Theme of Death
‘’To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure’’- J.K Rowling. Death is a theme that is present in the short stories ‘’Godfather Death’’ written by the Brothers Grimm, ‘’The Tell-Tale Heart,’’ written by Edgar Allan Poe, and ‘’The Story of an Hour,’’ written by Kate Chopin. The image of death is constantly lurking in the shadows in these stories, each of the characters in these stories confronts death in some significant way is death, and also a companion to each character’s journey. In each of the stories, the characters face turmoil which influences the character’s decisions, but all end with a similar result of death.
