General Edward Braddock was born in, 1695, in Perthshire, Scotland. He was the son of, Major General Braddock. His mother’s name is unknown. Not much is known about Edward Braddock’s childhood and home life. Although, his family was known for their military history. When Braddock was 15, he purchased a ranking chief warrant officer but below lieutenant in the Coldstream Guards. That is when his military career started. Then, in 1716, he ranked up to the lieutenant of the grenadier company. By 1745, he had ranked all the way up to colonel of a regiment. In July of 1745, he joined the second Battalion to Ostend, but he didn’t see that much activity. In the same year of 1745, he served with the Duke of Cumberland in the ending of the Jacobite
