Gene Krupa was born 1.5.1909, at Chicago, Illinois. He was known for many things especially the man who made the drums a solo instrument. Gene Krupa is a legend in music history. He didn’t start out using the drums. At 11 years of age; he played the saxophone because the sax was the cheapest instrument where his brother worked at. He started the saxophone when he was in grade school. To earn his instrument he worked at 11 years of age. Later on he got a drum of his own. Everybody who knows about his history will know him as the greatest drummer of his time who inspired an era of drummers. He was a jazz and an orchestra player. He never learned how to read notes so he faked some of his parts. A leader of a jazz band wanted gene to join his group but gene hesitated. The leader of the band was named Goodman. He was very inspiring. His drumming was very good and inspired and era of drumming. He started a revolution with his music coming from the drums he manually played. Gene Krupa is an inspiration to us all. The millions of listeners he had gave him the nick name of “The Chicago Flash”. He earned every right to be one of our leaders. The music history would be very different without gene Krupa making the drums a solo instrument. He performed many concerts and worked very hard to become a U.S musician and toured all around to pursue his long music career ahead of him. All the things he earned were because of his hard work and integrity. He had a dynamic sense of showmanship which was one quality that made him a Chicago born drummer. His destiny was to be a drummer and inspire all of his followers to join him in the music life. The music life as we know it is the ways it is because of gene Krupa and his followers. Gene Krupa was an amazing guy and if he were still here he would be very pleased with himself and see all the things he started. He still looks down today to see how he made the drums a solo
