Becoming a Game Warden has been my life long dream since I was a little boy. I've always had a passion for nature and an interest in law enforcement. Law enforcement goes beyond just protecting only people. The role of a Fish and Game Warden will have you patrolling the environment in which you live in, and protecting the wildlife. “It is a noble and ever-changing job being a Fish and Game Warden” (“Fish and Game Warden Job Description,” n.d., para.1) In order to become a Game Warden, you will need at least a 2-year degree. You can enroll in a local community college or university and major in a field such as criminal justice or a something similar. The program you pick may include courses such as forensic science, criminal law, criminal investigation, mathematics, and the justice system. After you have completed your educational requirements and become a Game Warden, you will have to enroll in a training academy for up to a year. State and federal training requirements may vary. You will patrol many areas such as lakes, rivers, and beaches. That is just some of many. Your main duty as a Game Warden will be to protect the fish and wildlife by enforcing hunting, pollution, trapping and fishing regulations. In order to do that you will have to watch for evidence of violating the law by patrolling areas by foot, plane, boat, or even by horseback. If you happen to see an individual who has done something to break the law, you may write a citation, or if the situation calls for it, arrest the individual.
