As a freshmen when your focus is developing your own interests and making new ones, you are less likely to follow the crowd trying to become like other students. Say a freshmen girl who is indifferent about parties and would rather read novels in her dorm. Is always hearing from her free spirited roommate about how fun the parties are and how many guys asked her out. What do you think this girl will eventually do? Not knowing who you are leads to trying to find who you are in others. That girl may eventually start going to parties and enjoying them because she finds out she’s the life of the party.
