Pierre Bonnard was very well known for his private paintings and bold and bright colors. Arguably he is a post-impressionist artist. He created the bulk of his paintings in this time period, however some museums consider him an outside artist.
He was greatly influenced by the bright, bold, and blocky colors of Paul Gauguin.
