In the story, The Crucible, there are two characters that are foils. Whenever one does something, it makes the other one look better. The characters are Abigail and Elizabeth. Both live in the same part of town. Elizabeth has a husband named John, but Abigail and John had intercourses Abigail and some of her friends done witchcraft in the woods of their town. Someone caught them and everyone in the town does not believe in that. Abigail does not like Elizabeth because she is married to John. So everything Abigail does makes Elizabeth look better than her. Elizabeth finds out about the witchcraft and begins to look good for John and the town so everyone else will not like Abigail. Abigail does not want John and Elizabeth
