Unfortunately, there is a high mortality rate for those who are diagnosed with pulmonary embolism [1]. However, there are some treatment options for patients displaying pulmonary embolisms [1,2]. One treatment would be to perform CPR on the patient [1]. Another treatment would be to administer thrombolytics; however, this form of treatment is usually reserved for times of emergency [2]. Also, the patient could be described anticoagulants in order to help resolve the problem [2]. Cardiopulmonary arrest is also known as cardiac arrest [3]. Since patients experiencing cardiopulmonary arrest do not show any signs of what they are experiencing until it happens it is important that treatment be delivered quickly to prevent death [3].
