The Dangers of Coke Zero Coke zero is another product made by the The Coca Cola company which is specifically marketed to men. Coke zero is enjoyed by many around the world as a soft drink associated with diet. When it first came out to the market, people thought that maybe here’s one soft drink that could quench their thirst without the feeling of guilt of consuming a lot of calories. This is most especially popular to people who are conscious about their sugar intake and those who are trying to keep a close watch on their weight. Coke zero contains aspartame (also known as amino sweet) and acesulfame potassium (ace-K) and has no or zero calories. Aspartame (E951) is an artificial sweetener, used more than 6000 food products. It is believed that aspartame helps in losing weight, but studies have shown that Aspartame is becoming more of an obesity and diabetes type 2 problem around the world and can cause cancer. My mum has only recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and I have watched her consume Equal in her tea and coffee since I was a wee one. As you may know, Equal and other calorie-free sweeteners bar stevia contain Aspartame and this has been linked to diabetes so I believe with every cell in my being that this is what contributed to her illness.
