In our textbook it states that discriminative stimulus for punishment is “a stimulus that signals that a response will be punished” (page 235) that being said for example if an individual is in a grocery store a store owner might shape his behavior based off of previous action they might of took or signs around the store stating that thief’s will be prosecuted, cameras are watching you and etc. These tactics represent that if thievery takes place going to jail will be the results. Through this stimulus the owner is training the customer to believe that if they do commit thievery then serious action will be taken.
