The next person chose was a high level rank soccer player named Ronaldo de Assis Moreira. He goes by the name of Ronaldinho. The reason I picked him was to prove Malcom’s theories of success in which this famous soccer player has spent more than 10,000 hours practicing and was born within the first few months of the calendar that is March 21, 1980. In the book, it says that, the NHL picks pick people around a certain birth date period for people to join. They do this because they want people who are stronger, better physically and mentally than any other players born after March (Gladwell 22). Luckily, this soccer player was born one day before the birth deadline. A little background info is that, in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Ronaldinho came…show more content… The reason he was chosen was because his life story is hard to believe. Curtis James Jackson III, known as 50 Cent, was born on July 6, 1975, in the borough of Queens in New York City. After an early life of crime, drugs and violence, he turned to a career as a rapper (50 Cent). According to one of Gladwell’s theories, Curtis Jackson birthday does not seem to fit in between January and March. This is one of Gladwell’s theories that do not correspond with this hip-hop singer. He was raised in a broken home in the rough neighborhood of Jamaica. His single mother worked as a drug dealer and was murdered when Jackson was only 8 years old; after her death, he was raised by his grandparents. He had boyhood aspirations to be a boxer, but he began selling drugs when he was a teenager. He also began to rap during his high school years (50 Cent). You can see here that his no one would have thought that Curtis Jackson would have been a successful hip-hop artist because of poor neighborhood he was raised in and because of the death of his mother when he was eight years old. All though, his dream was to be a boxer, his goal to be one vanished after he shortly started to join the drug industry (50 Cent). Not only that, he only began to rap during his high school years which means he would have not accomplished mastering the hip-hop lyrics within a few years. This tells us that the 10,000…show more content… He was helped and then after furthering his career, he started getting known and he was famous that his success level started to increase. The way Curtis Jackson got successful was he had a debut release that was produced by Eminem and Dre. He was later promoted by hip-hop legends Dr. Dre and Eminem, and he became a star. It was a massive success that eventually reached sales of 9 million units. Its singles, including "Wanksta" and "In Da Club," were crossover hits on the pop charts, since 50 Cent's gritty lyrics were backed by catchy musical hooks that appealed to audiences beyond the hip-hop scene. His personal appearance is what brought attention because is big muscled and tattooed, wearing a bulletproof vest and toting a handgun was also a strong factor in his appeal, as was the fact that his rap lyrics were based on real-life experiences (50 cent). Without Dr. Dre and Eminem Curtis Jackson success would not have happened. The fact that his lyrics were great and was still in the hip-hop and rap era made him grow into the successful person that he is known as today. As he still continues his successful career he launches a few more albums. Get Rich was followed another hit album, 2005's The Massacre, on which 50 Cent continued to rap about drugs, crime and sex on tracks like "Candy Shop" and "Just a Lil Bit."
