Crossfit; It's not just a sport. Ready, set, lift! Crossfit is one of the best health and fitness program offered and is practiced all over the world. You do not need to be the strongest or fastest athlete at the gym, instead all you need to succeed is a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard. To fully understand Crossfit, it is important to know what exactly Crossfit is, why it is good for you, and what types of people and athletes can participate. Founded in 2000 by Greg Glassman and Lauren Jenai, Crossfit was defined as constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity("What Is CrossFit?"). Over the past 15 years Crossfit has only grown, matured and become more competitive("What Is CrossFit?"). Not only did Glassman help start crossfit he was the first to be able to define fitness as, “increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains(Glassman).” “Forging Elite Fitness” has been and will continue to be Crossfit’s overall learning target and purpose.
