Out of my Mind, a book written by the Coretta Scott King Award Winning author, Sharon Draper, is about an eleven-year-old girl named Melody diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Various conflicts are observed throughout this book. However, the main conflict in this novel is how Melody deals with her disability. Since Melody is a child diagnosed with cerebral palsy, she is unable to talk, walk, or write. This has affected her academic life and activities.
