Love and Hate Love and hate, especially in the tragedy Romeo and Juliet, can have a lot of influence on people and their actions. As love and hate may seem opposite of each other, they are actually more similar than they are different. One reason hate and love are similar feelings is backed by scientific reasoning. The parts of your brain that is used in feelings of hate, the Putamen and Insula, are the same parts that are used when someone has feelings of love (Connor). In other words, the way our brains are made, people can feel love and hate at the same time, due to the part of the brain used in those emotions.
