The historical processes of empire building in the Spanish maritime empire and Russian Empire during 1450-1750 were similar and different. In comparison, was their building of the empire through conquest. The Russian empire brought both the steppes and Siberia under the Russian control; this was achieved through their strong military, which was based on modern weaponry and organizational captivity of a state. In comparison the Spanish also used conquest, for taking over the Aztec and Inca empires. This gave Spain access to the most wealthy, densely populated and urbanized region in the western hemisphere. However, these two empires were also different during this time period when it came to the process of empire building. For example, the
