Christa Mcauliffe was a teacher in Concord, New Hampshire who applied to go to space in the challenger space craft. Ronald Reagan wanted social support so he sent one teacher to space in the first two months over 11,000 applied. when Christa was a kid she wanted to be an astronaut but didn't think she could so she didn't try, she then went to college to be a teacher. Christa won the contest and had to go through a couple months of training. Christa Mcauliffe was a very lucky woman teacher who won the congressional space medal of honor, because she died in the challenger spacecraft. Christa Mcauliffe was a great woman who was very brave.
