Charles Chaplin, Thesis statement and main ideas
No, I'm not Hitler, but the moustache is a little misleading. I'm Charles Spencer Chaplin, an actor, writer, producer, and director of hundreds of movies in the 1900s. I was born in London, England on April 16th, 1889 (Fleischman, 7). Both my mother and my father were very poor. My father was a drunk who left my mother, my half-brother, and me (Fleischman, 11). I also indirectly made fun of the dictator Adolf Hitler in my movie "The Great Dictator" (Charles Chaplin). After that, Hitler wasn't very fond of me.
Aside from my hectic life off screen, I also won numerous accolades for some of my movies. One of my biggest achievements was on July 6th, 1925, when I was the first actor to ever appear on the cover of Time Magazine (the best Time covers). I won my first and only Oscar for my movie "Limelight". It won under the category Best Music. Although the film was originally set to release in 1952, it was released in 1972 (Charles Chaplin). I also won the New York Film Critics Circle award for "The Great Dictator" but I refused to accept the award (Charles Chaplin).
I lived a successful life as an actor, being able to make anyone laugh or cry without
