Samuel L. Clemons book “Roughing It” was continued this week as we had a more in depth look at the work environment of the west versus the migration of last week. In these chapters Mark Twain wondered throughout the frontier through many jobs such as lumber jack, reporter, and miner in the California foothills. In these chapters Mr. Twain broke down the idealism from his youth as it turned into wisdom as events like an assumed murder. We can see this when the editorial fight between Laird, Willington and Twain as all three challenged each other to duels.
