The physician can conduct various tests such as pressing or sending small electric shocks upon the median nerve, the test will be positive if a tingling sensation is recognized by the patient. Non-surgical treatment would be resting the area for up to 2 weeks, ibuprofen, and other anti-inflammatory pain relievers, stretching and strengthening exercises, and acupuncture have been known to be helpful.
