Carole Pateman tries to prove that the social contract is sexist. Pateman does this by analyzing the social contract as an underlying sexual contract and questioning what it is to be a woman. She argues that sexual difference is just political difference. Social contracts were made to promote freedom, yet as Pateman explained, freedom is constructed around men while women are subjected.
