Canadian Value System: Burkas Or Niqabs Are Prisons

As I recall, burkas or niqabs are not part of my history! Growing up, I have never seen any before a few years ago, in Ottawa! According to my Canadian value system, they represent segregation because you never see a man wearing one or the other. They illustrate male empowerment over female beauty and dignity. They prevent women from absorbing one of the most essential vitamins, the sun’s vitamin D. They are a barrier to human interactions and to all sensorial elements: the liberty to move and breathe freely; the difficulty to eat and drink; the tunnel vision; the effort to smelling and feeling the wind, the rain, the sun, the flowers, etc. To resume it all, burkas or niqabs are prisons for women, either imposed by men or self-imposed.
