“Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them and filling a space we didn’t even know we had.” -Unknown This quote is shown throughout two unforgettable books, Buck in the book Call of the Wild and White Fang from the book White Fang, which are two famous books by Jack London. The two dogs share many similarities, but also many differences. At the beginning of their stories, Buck and White Fang share some similarities and differences as well. First, both dogs are mix breeds but with different breeds. For example, Buck is a mix between his scottish sheppard mother and his st. bernard father, while White Fang is part wolf and part husky. For instance, Buck learns the “law” from the man in the red sweater who beats him into submission, while White Fang learns the “law” from Beauty Smith who beats him to make him win fights and to keep him fighting. For example, Buck uses the “Law of Fang” to gain alpha status among his dog sled team, while White Fang uses the “Law of Fang” to murder dogs while being forced to fight by Beauty Smith.
