The Book of Ruth is known as a poetic narrative genre with an anonymous author written sometime after 1010 B.C. The book is ascribed by the prophet Samuel in the Old Testament. It is a story consisting of four short chapters during the period of (Judges) that demonstrates love, kindness, and loyalty to God. The historical setting is in the period of Judges (Ruth1.1) and believed to be composed into its final form at a later time after the reign of David. The books key themes begin with the story of a family who fell away from God and left Israel to move to Moab after drought and famine forced them out. The story of Ruth tells of the loyalty and faithfulness Ruth has to her mother-in-law
