Beowulf is the story of a brave young man who is mighty and strong. He goes through many trials but always prevails. Beowulf fights many creatures but always overcomes his opponent and ends up on top. This story is thrilling and intriguing, the epic events Beowulf gets himself into are fun to be apart of. Some people are on his side others are not, but that doesn't seem to bother him. In the movie their are a few things that are different from the book, maybe some things that have been left out.

Now in every story that has a monster there must be a hero. This hero is stronger than any man, no one has seen a braver man. He came from his own land to help out the Danes, to defeat the monster that is terrorizing them. His name is Beowulf. When Beowulf hears what is going on over in the Danes he drops everything
interesting to obtain the attention of the viewers it will be, even at the expense of the story’s veracity. The movie Beowulf and Grendel (Gunnarsson, S.) shows a transition in how Beowulf grows as a person while in the poem, he remains a flat character. The movie and the book were very different in how the characters transition throughout the story line, especially Beowulf; also, the movie adds many new characters into the story line that the poem does not even mention.
