The decisions that people make in the past or present can predict what their future will look like. You can either make it or break it. Everyone may know between what’s right and what’s wrong but what really determines that is who you hang out around and who influences you personally to make decisions. In Augustine’s “Confessions” he talks about all the bad decisions he made in his life that led him down a path to find God. In the movie Facing the Giants Grant Taylor, the high school football coach, was facing a lot of troubles in his life and when he realizes what he is doing wrong he puts all his faith in Gods’ hands and does everything through him. Augustine and the characters in the movie Facing the Giants show that you can choose to follow…show more content… At the beginning of the movie Facing the Giants, Coach Taylor and his team have just ended their season with another loss. Right away you can tell that Coach Taylor is just having a tough time during his life. “For six years in a row, Coach Taylor now has another losing season under his belt. Now he will have to wait till next year to have another chance at a winning season, that’s if they let him come back next year.” (Facing the Giants) The next couple days, the team finds out that their best player has transferred to another school, Coach Taylor’s car dies, and his wife just can’t seem to get pregnant no matter how hard they try. Coach Taylor doesn’t have much, he’s a broke football coach and he really is a good coach but things just don’t seem to be going his way. In the middle of the movie, Coach Taylor was reading the bible and he really started thinking about what’s missing in his life and he finally figured it out. He decided to give up doing everything on his own and put everything in Gods’ hands. They praised God in everything they did as a team and in their personal lives. After they continued to do that, Coach Taylor and his team went on to win every single game they played and went on to win the championship game. Not only did that happen, at the end of the movie he and his wife found out that they were pregnant. Augustine and Coach Taylor have almost the same story line, once they both realized what really matters in life they both ended up living a better life by finding
